Giraffe in the Workplace

This dynamic workshop teaches us how to genuinely acknowledge ourselves and others without hidden agenda’s or intention to manipulate.

Anyone who participates will enjoy discovering what  happens when we let others know how their actions have contributed to our wellbeing and ease.

Join us for a fun and transformative half-day workshop that makes light work of a serious subject - the juice and the joy that can glue a team together.

At first glance, the skills and concepts offered in this workshop may seem familiar and not unlike other communication models.

However, during a workshop that offers many ‘ah ha’ experiences, we soon realize the ‘revolutionary’ nature of Giraffe Talk.

In this workshop we focus on how to express honestly and assertively to others in a way that they are more likely to listen.

We gain a deeper understanding that at the heart of all assertive self-expression lies the common link of human needs.

In Giraffe circles we love to listen to what people  say they miss most in the workplace.

Amongst other things, we hear their longing for genuine recognition and valuing of mutual efforts and contribution.

Next on the list, people say they like some play and a sense of belonging.  Indeed, we notice that productivity and efficiency rise when people enjoy what they do and needs for inclusion are met.

Money, it seems comes much further down the scale of motivators and satisfiers that impact your company’s day-to-day results.

So, we delight in offering a series of 5 workplace focused workshops which guarantee greater connection and effectiveness.

Attend one or more individual sessions or participate in all of them to acquire the skill-set of a Giraffe Negotiator, able to stay cool even when tensions run high.

5 programmes to transform your workforce

Taking time-out to connect with our inner process and self-dialogue leads to greater clarity, understanding and self-awareness.

This important step prepares us for a clear and considered self-assertion should we choose to express how we feel and what we need to others.

When we begin to connect with our universal needs, individual strategies seem less important and other possibilities start to emerge.

As a bonus, we also develop the ability  to calm and soothe ourselves in times of stress or conflict.

Many communication workshops tell us we need to listen when others speak; Giraffe Listening teaches us ‘how to’ listen.

Advanced listening skills when others are upset can help us to transform fraught or heated exchanges into meaningful opportunities to connect with and understand one another more fully.

Participants in this workshop will learn what they already intuitively know blocks our natural ability to listen actively and empathically.

About the Giraffe Metaphor

The creators of the ‘Giraffe in the Workplace’ series would like to
acknowledge international mediator, Dr Marshall Rosenberg, for his work in developing and sharing the compassionate process of Nonviolent Communication
(NVC), and for his adoption of the Giraffe as a metaphor.

The Giraffe symbol meets our needs for play and as a strategy to create of a bridge across the divide of understanding where people might struggle with the name Nonviolent Communication.

NVC continues to abundantly fulfill our needs, in business, in life, and for  sharing with others a powerful, communication model and a spiritual consciousness.

Indeed, one of our workshop participants recently said ‘my experience of the NVC process, is beyond words’.

For further information regarding Dr Rosenberg, the NVC process and its increasing impact on human relationships around the world, please visit www.cnvc.org.
